Fratello Law Recognized at 2026 Champions of Civil Justice Reception

Suffolk County Pro Bono Awards

Smithtown, NY – October 8, 2026 – Fratello Law, P.C. is proud to announce that attorney Cheryl L. Fratello and law clerk Peyton Neil Gambino were recognized for their dedication to pro bono service at the 2026 Champions of Civil Justice Reception, held on October 7 at the Suffolk County Bar Association in Hauppauge, New York.

Hosted by the Suffolk Pro Bono Project, the annual reception celebrates attorneys, legal professionals, and volunteers who generously contribute their time and expertise to help ensure access to justice for underserved members of the Long Island community.

Fratello Law was also proud to serve as a sponsor of this year’s event, demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to community service and supporting organizations that make legal assistance accessible to those in need.

A Commitment to Access to Justice

For Fratello Law, community involvement extends beyond the firm’s daily work representing clients in estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, and estate administration.

“Practicing law is about more than serving our clients. It’s also about recognizing our responsibility to the community and using our knowledge to help those who might otherwise go without legal assistance,”

— Cheryl L. Fratello, Founder, Fratello Law, P.C.

The Suffolk Pro Bono Project, a collaborative initiative involving the Suffolk County Bar Association and Legal Services of Long Island, connects volunteer attorneys with individuals who cannot afford legal representation.

Through these efforts, volunteer attorneys help bridge the gap between those who need legal assistance and those who can access it.

Celebrating Long Island's Legal Community

The Champions of Civil Justice Reception recognized individuals whose contributions reflect the legal profession’s commitment to public service.

Fratello and Gambino were among the evening’s Distinguished Pro Bono Honorees, joining fellow legal professionals whose volunteer efforts have made a meaningful difference in the community.

Fratello Law congratulates all of this year’s award recipients and extends its appreciation to the Suffolk Pro Bono Project, Suffolk County Bar Association, and Legal Services of Long Island for their continued dedication to expanding access to justice.
